Mumbai is an active city. Everybody is occupied – more so the bread winners who work harder, longer and under greater stress burdened with time-bound assignments. One has to stretch oneself more leading to strain too. Under such circumstances one tends to lose one's cool and slightest added inconvenience provokes one to react angrily.

During office work too, each person expects good coordination, cooperation and sharing the work too – but the reality is otherwise. Each person busy in doing his own tasks feels any other work would delay his work so would avoid coordination, cooperation and sharing, upsetting the other person who looks for help. So the peace around is at stake allowing conflict to surface. Some people accept the situation and do their best to avoid conflict and do additional bit of work too. How to avoid all this and bring spirit of performance with joy rather than “bear till you tear” approach?

To promote comradeship and diffuse tension in such times, people working should take out 10 minutes even during their lunch hours and share positive spirit and ideas and develop team spirit for working together and sharing responsibilities to deliver the results and thus eliminate the stress and strain. Even the supervisors and bosses would do a lot of good when they join in such meetings and clarify any doubts while extending full support.

At home too, the members of family could share each other's work thus bringing greater bonding and closeness instead of just living together under one roof as boarders.

Life is a journey. Let's make it pleasant, peaceful and joyous by accepting people and situations as they come and be a part of the team while changing where there is scope and having patience with relaxed mind to accept changes when they are beyond one's own control. Thus one can be at peace with oneself without unnecessarily tormenting oneself.

Let's always remember these words of wisdom – “God, give me the strength to change the things I can and the courage to accept what I cannot and wisdom to distinguish between the two.” This will help us to stay cool and happy too while helping others to be so also!
