The
National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) was originally established
on 29 March 1954 by the Government of India with a gallery in
New Delhi. NGMA Mumbai was opened to the public in 1996. The
Mumbai gallery hosts various exhibitions and art collections of
famous artists, sculptors and civilizations – most notably a
collection of Pablo Picasso's works and even ancient Egyptian
artifacts including mummies and statues.
