"There is no performance visitor who would not remember her. Her assets are perfect intonation, excellent musical feeling, ingenious dramatic expression, sense of the content of the sung text, prudent selection of repertoire, visible image – what else can one wish? Her assets could be shared by even three singers and all of them would be happy, and here we have it all in one." – Jiří Suchý, Theatre Director

"Her dramatic art, singing and dancing create together plastic, dynamic and in a way unique theatre of songs…She disposes of the technically mature voice with surprising range and variety of colours. She is capable to express through it a wide scale of feelings ranging from slight irony to real tenderness; you can hear sparkling bitterness in her voice, but above all poetics. Behind the microphone she rules over all her emotions in a disciplined way, being able to build up the story so that she adds another unexpected dimension to it. "– A. Tabášek, journalist

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic, within the framework of the cultural part of the Czech Presidency of the European Union, invites you to a series of concerts by Renata Drössler and her group to be held in Mumbai, Chennai and Aurangabad.

Renata Drössler´s singing is so ravishing and entrancing that numerous theatres and cultural institutions all over the world feel honoured to frequently offer her their stages and host her as a guest artist. Her repertoire includes above all chansons sang in various world languages. In the past few years, she has performed in Spain, Austria, Poland, Italy, Great Britain and Canada. She participated in several overseas and domestic festivals and her talent was honoured with plenty of dramatic and musical awards. Her project Chopin (songs of Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin in both traditional and lesser-known versions) has captured her audience time and again. As a result, she was invited to perform the same in Tokyo, Japan. She serves as a living example of what the Czech Presidency´s of the European Union motto "Europe without barriers" means.

Renata Drössler comes from a bilingual environment of a Czech-Polish family. She grew up amidst language and cultural tolerance and learnt to understand and tolerate differences between people and cultures. Moreover, as she is fluent in both Czech and Polish languages considering both as her mother tongues, her translating skills make her very often a bridge and platform of understanding between different cultures.

Perhaps that was what made her study at the Faculty of Drama at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Prague. After her graduation she devoted herself to performing arts - drama, musicals and dance. It soon became obvious that there was a specific talent in her. By now, numerous prestigious theatres at home and abroad have unveiled her great dramatic and singing potential and she is rightfully considered a "black butterfly of chanson" or even referred to as the "Czech Marlene Dietrich". No wonder, it is just the role of Marlene Dietrich in the play "Edith and Marlene", in which she starred for several seasons, that she considers her most favourite dramatic part.

Film directors who feature her in TV films, series and other TV productions, appreciate the high quality and colourfulness of her performances. For her promotional materials, she cooperates with the leading photographers and painters. But still her heart and soul remain devoted to singing and theatre.
