Gain Experience

For growing youngsters there are all types of suggestions, ideas and even advice from every quarter - be it parents, counsellors, friends or even the priests!

What is the objective, the process and even the purpose of growing? Let's first answer this important question.

Growing is moving from adolescence to adulthood with the purpose of “taking charge of one's life”, but the confused youngsters think growing is doing “what they like”, “as they like” and “how and when they like”. This wrong notion is most damaging. It amounts to getting drifted in the world of disorder, chaos and carelessness.

Fun is an inseparable ingredient of youth and may it be so too! But being a hunk without reins on rampage without rhyme or reason is nothing short of pushing oneself drown the drain of doom! One does need to add “spice” to life to make it enjoyable. But having all spice and no food is nothing short of being on a suicidal course.

Growing, in true sense means taking charge of one's life by acquiring enough education and skills for self reliance and supporting oneself and even shoulder the responsibilities to support the family.

To equip oneself with such competence with total confidence, one needs not only the qualification but also sufficient training to master skills for performance. For this one should gain experience through participating in activities of business or office as an apprentice, trainee or even part time staff.

Remember just as there is no substitute for hard work, there is no substitute for “work experience” in order to achieve total competence and confidence.

For getting such opportunities along with graduation youngsters should be encouraged to take some vocational courses that impart operational skills and not just the knowledge. Such courses besides being for short duration are easy and enjoyable. So gear up this vacation in “hot pursuit” of short vocational courses then work and gain experience - the greatest asset for success!
