  B. FARES & E-TICKETING (VA-1) from VIRGIN ATLANTIC, U.K.

Virgin Atlantic along with the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) had developed the Fares and Ticketing Level 1 and Level 2 programmes in 2003 and the courses have been updated regularly by industry professionals. The qualifications from Virgin Atlantic will not only enable you to improve your employment prospects but also build the skills base in the travel and tourism sectors. The programmes of VA-1 and VA-2 are also accredited by City & Guilds, U.K.'s leading awarding body, as part of their Tourism qualifications.

VA-1 introduces you to the travel industry with use of extracts from selected industry publications. You will at the end of the course be able to price and document various itineraries as per customers' requirements.

   
  On successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

• Interpret airline codes

  ADVANCED FARES & E-TICKETING (VA-2) from VIRGIN ATLANTIC, U.K.
 


VA-2 has been designed to enable you to have a thorough understanding of fare construction principles and calculate complex fares. On completing VA-2 and having relevant experience you are eligible to pursue the Management Level qualifications for the Travel and Tourism Industries.

On successful completion of VA-2 , you will be able to:

• Construct fares for multi-sector journeys applying mileage system, higher intermediate points and minimum fare checks
• Apply add-ons to construct unpublished fares
• Calculate fares for journeys with surface sectors
• Calculate fares for journeys involving side trips
• Assess fares for journeys involving different classes of service
• Construct special fares for multi-sector journeys with and without surface sectors
• Complete automated fare calculation in detail

   
 

C. CRS from VIASINC, USA

   
 

VIASINC stands for Vocational Instruction and Software Incorporated, one of the premier GDS training companies based out of USA and IHCTM in association with VIASINC has been offering training programmes since 1999. The online training system trains you to be competent in 40 hours in any one of the GDS which makes you eligible for an international certification.

You can choose from any one of the following CRS: Abacus, Amadeus*, Galileo*, Sabre* or Worldspan*

Note: You will be given a user name and password and a time frame within which you would have to complete your CRS training. On scoring a minimum of 85% you will be eligible for certification from IHCTM and/or from VIASINC.
