Subject: HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hello Subhash, I just wanted to say hello after a long time and wish you a happy new year And some good news; you can take it as a new year gift. As you know I have immigrated to USA and I have been living in New York since 6 months. I found a job in a cargo handling company at JFK airport as a cargo customer service agent with Alliance Air. I have been working here since 2 months I acknowledge it is on your recommendation. about cargo that I was able to find this job. So I just wanted to let you know because I thought as a teacher you should be happy and proud of yourself.

I remember you told me that US job market is competitive and I think this would be a good start.

In the mean time I work at a gas station as a store keeper to pay my bills and have been preparing for a "master of science in travel industry management" program. Life is hard but I got the ambition, so I will do let you know as I climb the ladder. Wish you and the staff a happy, healthy, wealthy and prosperous new year.

Subject: Career Update

When I was in Bombay I saw a movie by the name 'Terminal', it was telling the story of Tom Hanks stuck in JFK airport. As I watched the movie I dreamed about working one day at this airport since I was planning to move to New York after completing my courses and military service in Turkey. But I was not expecting it to happen this quickly.

Currently I work at JFK airport for Alliance Airlines as a customer service agent, this is a cargo service company and I work for the road feeder department at which we truck shipments to the final destination acting as an airline with a flight number. My initial duties are dispatching local drivers to pick up the shipments from other airlines and preparing paperwork for the trucking leg of the flight.

The way I found this job was very similar to the way I found IHCTM. I was searching through the jobs at JFK and I came across a security position with this company, I used that advertisement to reach the HR department and they called me for an interview but for another position and of course the courses I completed at IHCTM were the main highlights of my resumé. Sometimes doors might look locked but it is not to say that there is nobody inside so I encourage all job starters to keep knocking. Follow your intuition and support them with proper study, that only can take you to your dreamland.
